I started out as a vegan, but not really a healthy vegan as I still enjoyed many vegan processed foods. Until I found Dr Greger’s website and got very interested in his work. Over the course of a few months I poured over hours and hours of his videos, it was just so interesting to me! Slowly, I started following his advice and trying a whole food plant-based diet rather than vegan diet. Since then I’ve noticed very positive changes – I have so much more energy and waking up in the morning has become a lot easier. I found I’ve become a much more positive person and I don’t feel I have to make huge sacrifices to my diet – I very easily gave up all that bad stuff and I truly enjoy veggies, fruit, beans etc. I think I even enjoy it more because I know it’s good for my body and my health too. Yes, sometimes I do feel like eating processed food, but I honestly feel sick afterwards which is a good reminder to myself as to why I’ve chosen a whole food plant based lifestyle. I have stopped drinking too – I’m not sure what changes have happened to my body since, but I find I can no longer tolerate alcohol. Not a big loss for me to be honest, I certainly don’t feel as though I’m missing out.
Every day I feel light, clean, happy and healthy. I’m also finding it so much easier to listen to my body now – food affects us in such a big way! I would definitely recommend trying a whole food plant based diet to anyone. Even once or twice a week I think will help people realise just how good you can feel and look if you don’t constantly stuff yourself with rubbish food and give your body a break and some needed love and care I wouldn’t be scared of all the myths that exist on the internet – 5 minute research shows that it’s actually easy, cheap and you don’t always need some crazy exotic ingredients. Any shop will have most of what you need to maintain healthy and happy lifestyle.
